Report from the Public Works Department: Updates of Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM)
Dear Chair Hoffmann,
I am requesting that Hawaii County Council Members be informed about the update of the Flood
Insurance Rate Maps. Public Works Director Bruce McClure and Galen Kuba will be working with the
Army Corp. of Engineers. I have asked that this report include:
1. A memorandum of understanding with the Army Corp of Engineers as to their responsibilities
for this project and DPW's responsibilities which should include:
2. What activities will be included in this process and a timeline for the successful completion of
the project, island wide, and
3. A budget and dates for completion District by District.
