RESOLUTION NO. 164 ~ 7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has requested funds for needed repairs and
modifications to the Rescue Boat currently assigned to the Waiakea Fire Station; and
WHEREAS, the boat repairs and modifications include, but is not limited to, the
following: 1. Hull extension and full displacement motor bracket, 2. Fresh water wash-down
system (tank, pump, plumbing), 3. Two Bomaz roof hatches, 4. Trim tabs, 5. Sliding side
windows, 6. Extra hands hold, 7. Raise fish box to accommodate dive tanks in upright posotion,
and 8. Remove and reinstall engines; and
WHEREAS, these items are necessary to assure both the operational effectiveness to the
craft as well as to provide for personnel safety; and
WHEREAS, the Waialcea Fire Station is in the process of retrofitting and standazdizing
the kitchen area by installing two 30" Gas Range; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 4 for $28,000 will be
appropriated to the Hawaii County Fire Depaztment for the repairs and modifications to the
Rescue Boat assigned to the Waiakea Fire Station; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the
following amount is hereby transferred appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
