All levels of staff exude a personable, sincere and helpful approach, promoting team/family environment based on a foundation of caring, trust, common goals and empowerment for employees. It is important that employees provide unparalleled service to Kohala Preserve members and guests. To maintain and promote exceptional service, KPCT recognizes that continuing education and support are vital to retaining productive and motivated staff. KPCT is also investigating subscribing to the American Hotel and Lodging Association's Educational Institute (AH&LA EI) library. This subscription offers training, education and certification materials in various media and modules for the front office, housekeeping, sales, security, and maintenance departments. The EI library is geared to all levels ofemployees--from managers and supervisors to line-level. EI certifies and validates competences in conjunction with academia and industry experts for 35 positions in the hospitality industry. An employee study room may be built with Internet access and study facility components. Long-term training efforts are expected to evolve with the industry and with the character of the Kohala Preserve. 2
