RESOLUTION NO. 1.75 U?
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, the Waiakea Recreation Center is amulti-purpose County facility that
services senior citizens in the morning, adults in the afternoon and the martial arts classes in the
afternoon and in the evening; and
WHEREAS, various martial arts competition and training of students are held here, as
well as morning aerobics for senior and adult aerobics in the afternoon; and
WHEREAS, the current facility is generally unsafe to the public due to the deteriorating
roof that leaks, requiring tarps to be used in the facility to divert water into a baby wading pools;
and
WHEREAS, Brian Peterson, owner of Yama's Roofing and his employees will donate the
manpower and time needed to replace the roof at Waialcea Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, paint will also be purchased and the martial arts community will paint the
interior and exterior of the center; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the
Department of Parks & Recreation to be used towards the purchase of roofing materials,
supplies and paint for the Waiakea Recreational Center; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $20,000
CREDITED TO:
010.801.5801.33 Department of Parks and Recreation $20,000
Transfer to Cap Proj Fund-G
(To be allotted to Waiakea Recreation Center
Roof replacement project in District 4 - 110.599.5591.93)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
