Angel; County Testimony Subject: Bill 75 I am sending written testimony on the General Plan Amendment Procedure. I believe the Planning Commission has too much power and is abusing this power. I believe we need a Planning Commission for the West side of this Island of Hawaii with commissioners who live on the West side voting about West side issues. Mr. Yuen and several appointees that Mr. Kim put in are abusing the powers they have been given. Those of us who were present at the last Planning Committee meeting in Kona witnessed a terrible show of power that spoke volumes about this commission using its power to grant a developer a permit to build a complex that will ultimately lead to a flooding disaster. Questions were ignored, concerns ignored, facts were glossed over, all in the name of getting this developer his permit. It was VERY clear what was going on. The fact that the Planning Commission cannot be held culpable should be changed also. They ARE responsible for what they permit and for them to think and act otherwise is deplorable. I urge you to investigate the bigger picture before ANYTHING in the General Plan is changed. Thank you for the opportunity to send in my testimony. Sincerely, Lillian Fox r. , c. ' ~ ~._r „ N Comm.
