Notable increases include additional monies appropriated for <br /> increased microwave radio maintenance and connectivity expenses for mobile laptop computer units. <br /> These expenses are necessary and relatively minimal in relation to the projected benefit of increased <br /> efficiency with respect to police field operations. The additional positions proposed are also minimal <br /> but necessary in order to maintain the high level of service provided by our Police Department. <br /> The Commission also wholeheartedly supports the Police Department's CIP budget, and <br /> recognizes the need for facilities improvement and technological upgrades found therein. <br /> The Hawaii Police Commission strongly urges the Hawaii County Council to adopt the Hawaii <br /> Police Department operating budget as is.
