Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 226, reports as follows:
Communication No. 226, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated Mazch 7, 2007, nominates
Ms. Patricia Provalenko of Council District 9, to serve on the Hawaii County Salary Commission.
Ms. Provalenko is a 21-year resident to Hawaii, and is currently the President and Property
Manager of PATDI Inc. Of no political party affiliation, she will serve a term to end on
December 31, 2007.
Mr. Lincoln Ashida, Office of Corporation Counsel, informed your Committee that Ms. Provalenko
is a property manager, and she handles one of the property that the County leases. Mr. Ashida felt
that this should be brought to the Committee's attention.
Pursuant to Section 13-28, Hawaii County Charter, the salary commission shall consist of nine
members appointed by the mayor with the approval of the council.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Ms. Patricia Provalenko to the
Hawaii County Salary Commission.
