Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 91-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 91-07, transmitted by Council Member Dominic Yagong, via Communication
No. 220, dated Mazch 1, 2007, authorizing the Office of the Mayor to enter into a long term
agreement with the Merrie Monarch Festival, to lease a portion of the former County of Hawaii
Real Property Tax office situated at 865 Pi`ilani Street in Hilo, Hawaii. The long term lease
agreement shall be for 20-years at the cost of $1.00 per year plus utilities.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 91-07
and recommends its adoption.
