Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 221, reports as follows:
Communication No. 221, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated
Mazch 1, 2007, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Ms. June H. Daimaru.
Ms. June H. Daimaru has graciously donated a monetary donation to the Depaztment of Parks
and Recreation, to be used towazds the reconstruction of the Panaewa Community Center. The
value of this donation is estimated at $25.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Chpeter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or
gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Departrnent of Finance shall
be submitted to the Council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ms. June H. Daimaru, 126 Pohai Street, Hilo, Hawaii
96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance the monetary donation from Ms. June H.
Daimazu to the Department of Pazks and Recreation.
