Your Committee on Finance, to which was refen•ed Bill No. 69, reports as follows:
Bill No. 69, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 236,
dated Mazch 6, 2007, appropriating additional funds into the Community Based Traffic
Coordinator account, and amends Ordinance No. 06-79, as amended, the Operating Budget,
ending June 30, 2007. The amendment is as follows:

The goal of the program is to reduce the number of alcohol, speed, and seat belt non-use related
traffic fatalities and injuries on the Big Island by 10 percent. The coordinator will plan and
coordinate media and educational activities and be a liaison between the State, County and
community agencies and organizations. This additional funds brings the total grant
appropriation to $52,000.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 69 and
recommends it pass first reading.
