Lockwood is a 31-year resident of Hawaii. Since 1995 he has <br /> been self-employed as the owner of Geohazards Consultants International, Inc. Mr. Lockwood <br /> is a member of the liwi Road Association, a supporter of Recycle Hawai', and a past member of <br /> the Volcano Community Association and the Volcano Art Center. He states that he is a <br /> Democrat but that he votes independently. If confirmed, he will serve a vacant term that will <br /> expire on December 31, 2007, and at that time he will be eligible for another term. <br /> Council District 8 -Benjamin M. Watai, Sr.,is a 72-year resident of Hawaii. He retired in 1985 <br /> as the superintendent of the Keauhou Kona Golf Course, where he worked for 18 years. <br /> Mr. Watai is the president of the Kealakehe Neighborhood Watch, the vice president of the <br /> Kealakehe Community Association, and a volunteer disabled parking enforcement officer. He <br /> states that he is a Democrat.
