RESOLUTION NO. 200 0'7
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF THE
FUNDS FROM THE HAWAII STATE CIVIL DEFENSE FOR THE HAWAII FIRE
DEPARTMENT'S PARTICIPATION IN THE URBAN SEARCH & RESCUE
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Department of Defense, Hawaii State Civil Defense
sponsors the Urban Search and Rescue Training and a Urban Search and Rescue Development
Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department participates in this program and is reimbursed for
travel expenses, subsistence, and overtime expenditures relating to these activities; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments
obtain the consent of the council to expend and receive any funds or other assistance from the
federal or state governments in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to any
powers granted by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it authorizes the receipt and expenditure of funds relating to the Urban Search &
Rescue Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, in accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes,
that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an
agreement and/or related documents, to enable the Hawaii Fire Department to receive funds, from
the State of Hawaii Department of Defense, Hawaii State Civil Defense, for the Urban Search &
Rescue Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Department of Finance and the Hawaii Fire Department.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
