RESOLUTION NO. 201 O'7
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE MONETARY CONTRIBUTION
FROM THE AT8~T FOUNDATION FOR THE KOHALA DITCH REPAIRS
WHEREAS, AT&T Foundation had invited the County of Hawaii to submit a grant application to
support earthquake disaster relief on the Island of Hawaii after the two earthquake struck our island on
October 15, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Harry Kim applied for and was granted $100,000 from the AT&T Foundation;
and
WHEREAS, in the application, the identified project that these monies will be applied is the
restoration of a damaged water flume in Kohala (Kohala Ditch); and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Management recommends the acceptance of this contribution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this contribution.
