' Hawaii County Council 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawaii 96720 The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation has authorized an additional-$x9,644 to the Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for it to conduct statewide training~nd meetings for deputy prosecuting attorneys and police to improve communications between agencies and to improve the law enforcement system in its efforts to enforce traffic offenses. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget and increasing the DUI & Crash Reconstruction Training account by $9,644 and bringing the total appropriation to $33,644. A total of $31,644.00 has been obligated to the project. The grant funds will be used to conduct statewide training and meetings for deputy prosecuting attorneys and police to improve communications between agencies and improve the law enforcement sys[em in its efforts to enforce traffic offenses. Progress reports must be submitted quarterly within 15 days (ending May, August and November) and a final report must be submitted within thirty days of the end of the grant period. iZeimbursement claims must be submitted in accordance with the agreement {monthly or quarterly) by the 20th of the month following the claim period. A claim must be submitted even if no expenditures were made. The project is subject to the audit requirements of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) A-133, Audit of State/I.ocal Government & Non-Profit Organizations.
