RESOLUTION NO. 218
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESINGATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Big Island Resource and Development Council will sponsor the second
annual Hilo Inter-Tribal Powwow at Wailoa State Park on May 26a', 27`h and 28a' ;and
WHEREAS, this is a free community event that will premier contemporary and
traditional American Indian dances, drumming, singing, storytelling, silent auction, arts/crafts
and ethnic food; and
WHEREAS, the Federation of American Natives in partnership with the Big Island
Resource and Development will host two tribes, the Wapato Indian Club who was awarded with
the Governor's Heritage Award 2005 and the Eagle Song Dancers who will present the
traditional "Chiax" protocol and laws of their canoe culture; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the
Department of Research and Development to be used as a grant towards the Big Island Resource
and Development Council for the 2" Annual Hilo Inter-Tribal Powwow; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

CREIDTED TO:
010.161.5161.60 Department of Research and Development $2,000

BE IT FINALLY RESLOVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Research and Development and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
