vv or <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •••rI~O~~M~+ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 206 0~7 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO <br /> A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> WHEREAS, approximately 989 students, grades Pre-K through Fifth attend the <br /> Kealakehe Elementary School located at 74-5118 Kealaka`a Street, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Kealaka`a Street is one of two direct entry and exit points to Palani Road <br /> (Highway 190, Hawaii Belt Road) that motorists use to access and exit Kealakehe <br /> Elementary School, a large residential subdivision, low-income housing facilities as well as <br /> the Kealakehe Intermediate School located on Onipa`a Street; and <br /> WHEREAS, elementary school children who walk to school as well as children who <br /> are dropped off by their parents, use a marked crosswalk to get across Kealaka`a Street; and <br /> WHEREAS, to protect the well being and promote the safety of these children, <br /> motorists who travel on Kealaka`a Street must be made awaze of the presence of these <br /> children and encouraged to drive slowly and with caution; and <br /> WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 8 for $55,030 will be <br /> appropriated to the Department of Public Works and used for safety improvements such as <br /> installation of solar-powered flashing signals identifying the school zone, inlcuding but not <br /> limited to, providing smart signs and other material and equipment necessary to complete the <br /> Kealakehe Elementary School Safety Zone project; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: General <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $55,030 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $55,030 <br /> <br />
