Subject: Resolution 169-07 The "Keolalani Hanoa Resolution"
Dear Esteemed Councilpersons,
I am writing in support of Resolution 169-07 or the "Keolalani Hanoa Resolution." It is
imperative that we recognize and protect the natural beauty and health of Ka'u and the
fishing and Honu habitats, not only for the present wildlife residents of this area, but for
the future of these sensitive ecosystems and future generations of Big Island families.
A very, very important Big Island asset needs to be preserved for the benefit of everyone.
By protecting Punalu'u we can:
*Create educational, cultural and resource management jobs with good salaries
*Guarantee public access to Punalu'u's black sand beach forever
*Malama our fishing grounds and important Honu habitat
I urge you to please, please hear the aina and support this resolution so that the fate of the
land and the wildlife are in secure hands. We are blessed to be the Guardians of this most
beautiful and precious gift that is Hawaii.
