On behalf of Kamehameha Investment Corporation, the following amendments to Bill No. 186 Draft 4, Condition O
are submitted for your favorable consideration. These amendments are offered in response to concerns expressed by
il~e area residents that fair share contributions be expended for improvements in the affected region. Added sections
to Condition O have been underscored.
"O. The applicant shall make its fair share contribution to mitigate potential regional impacts of the subject project
...The fair share contribution shall be allocated as follows:
1. $2,291.39 per multiple-family residential unit for an indicated total of $1,771,244.47 and $3,490.85
per single-family residential unit for an indicated total of $708,642.55 to the County to support park
and recreational improvements and facilities within the Kahalu`u - Keauhou districts to include.
without limitation. improvements to Kahalu`u Beach Park;
2. $72.42 per multiple-family .
The fair share contributions described above shall be adjusted annually beginning three years after the effective date
of the change of wne, based on the percentage change in the Honolulu Consumer Price Index (HCPI). Any fair share
mntributio~t paid by the applicant shall be expended within the region im acn ted by the nronosed development subiect
to the aonroval of the director In lieu of paying the fair share contribution, the applicant may construct and contribute
improvements/facilities related to parks and recreation, fire, police, solid waste disposal facilities, and roads within
il~e region impacted by the proposed development, subject to the approval of the director. ....upon wnsultation with
the appropriate agencies."
