Dear Council Members,
Just to let you know that while I agree that a homeowner need not pull a plumbing permit to
replace a kitchen sink, I do not_agree that the homeowner should hire a licensed plumber to replace
that kitchen sink. As a single occupant of my own home, I just replaced my kitchen sink by myself
in December and !didn't need a plumberto do it. It saved me f 200 plus in labor costs just doing it
myself. Many of the home improvement stores encourage people like me to DO ITYOVRSELF
CDIY) by selling books that tell you exactly how to remove and replace a kitchen sink and by selling
plumbing (fixtures that are easy to handle and replace. I replaced my stainless steel stnk with an
acryltc one and I changed my kitchen faucet to a better one.
I do not support this bill at this time unless it allows the homeowner to make replacements for
plumbing work costing less than f 1,000.00.
