COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 223 07
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXCHANGE OF REAL PROPERTY WITH THE
STATE OF HAWAII, BEING PORTIONS OF TAX MAP KEYS: (3)2-2-015:033 AND
2-2-015:076.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is the owner of Parcel A-1, containing an area of
6.542 acres, being Tax Map Key: (3)2-2-015:033 (see attached); and
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii is the owner of Parcel B-1, containing an area of
8 acres, being Tax Map Key: (3)2-2-015:076 (see attached); and
WHEREAS, as part of the Aupuni Center Parking Lot Improvements, Job No. B-3750,
the County of Hawaii has agreed to exchange the area outlined in orange on the attached map,
with the area owned by the State of Hawaii outlined in green on the attached map, in order to
straighten the property line between the parcels; and
WHEREAS, this exchange of 20,076 square feet (0.467 acre) will result in no net change
in the total square foot area of the two parcels; and
WHEREAS, Sections 2-111 and 2-120 of the Hawaii County Code permit the exchange
of real property with other governmental bodies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, in accordance with Sections 2-111 and 2-120 of the Hawaii County Code, the
County of Hawaii authorizes the exchange and accepts the area outlined in green on the attached
map, containing an azea of 20,076 square feet (0.467 acre), being a portion of Tax Map
Key: (3)2-2-015:076, in exchange for the area outlined in orange on the attached map, containing
an area of 20,076 square feet (0.467 acre), being a portion of Tax Map Key: (3)2-2-015:033.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwazded to: (1) Mayor
Harry Kim; (2) the Department of Public Works; (3) Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald
Takase; and (4) Ernest Y.W. Lau, Public Works Administrator, Department of Accounting and
General Services, State of Hawaii, P.O. Box 119, Honolulu, Hawaii 96810.
