Re: Resolution Accepting Donation of Real Property
Surety Kohala Corporation would like to donate a 0.379 acre parcel of land adjacent to
the Kamehameha Park in Kohala, to the County of Hawaii. This parcel of land, situated
at Honopueo, North Kohala, Hawaii, Tax Map Key: (3) 5-4-009:023 (por.), is located next
to the Kohala Intergenerational Center and will be used for the construction of an outdoor
basketball court. The courts will be constructed as a community project through the
Department of Parks and Recreation and County funds will be used to purchase the
needed materials. The additional courts will help fulfill the recreational needs of the
Kohala community and will be a welcome addition to current park amenities.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the acceptance of a donation of real property,
identified by Tax Map Key: (3) 5-4-009:023 (por.), from Surety Kohala Corporation.

A. REQUEST:
To accept and acknowledge the donation of a 0.379 acre parcel of land adjacent to Kamehameha Park in
Kohala, from Surety Kohala Corporation. (Map and parcel description attached.)
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Surety Kohala Corporation would like to donate this property next to the Kohala Intergenerational Center to
the County of Hawaii for construction of an outdoor basketball court. The courts will be constructed as a
community project through Department of Parks and Recreation and County funds will be used to purchase
