Cook,HI 96704 <br /> May 15, 2007 TESTIMONY- Wed., May 16, 2007, 11 am <br /> COUNTY COUNCIL IN HILO <br /> BILLS FOR ORDINANCES (FIRST READING) J <br /> RE: 46.BILL 60 Proposed Operating and Capital Budget-Public Works <br /> 47.BILL 61 Capital Improvements Project Budget for the County-Public Works <br /> IN_FAVOR-_A_ mendment to increase to $1,000,000 MAPPING FOR NORTH KONA and HILO -MAKING <br /> SEPARATE DESIGNATION OF $500,000 FOR NORTH KONA AND $500,000 FOR HILO <br /> Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members, <br /> I am writing to encourage the County Council to Amend the Budget for Public Works (Bill 69 or 61, whichever <br /> applies) to increase the present <br /> allocation of Mapping Money to $1,000,000, designating $500,000 to Hilo and $500,000 for North Kona. <br /> As you may recall, I testified on March 19 to the Finance Committee regarding this issue on behalf of Kona Soil and <br /> Water District Directors who support this increase. As I stated in my testimony in March "The FEMA mapping in <br /> <br /> North Kona is from 1984.
