(Draft 3) <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 <br /> EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO PLUMBING. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 17, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is <br /> repealed in its entirety. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 17, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> "Chapter 17 <br /> Plumbing <br /> Article 1. General Provisions. <br /> Section 17-1. Title and purpose. <br /> (a) This chapter shall be known as the "plumbing code," may be cited as such, and will be <br /> referred to herein as "this code." <br /> (b) The purpose of this code is to provide for the protection of the public health and safety by <br /> establishing minimum regulations for the installation, alteration, or repair of plumbing and <br /> drainage systems and the inspection thereof. <br /> Section 17-2. Scope. <br /> The provisions of this code shall apply to all new construction, relocated buildings, and to <br /> any alterations, repairs, or reconstruction within the property lines of the premises, except as <br /> provided for otherwise in this code. <br /> Section 17-3. Definitions. <br /> As used in this code, unless otherwise specified: <br /> "Administrative authority" means the director of the department of public works, or the <br /> director's authorized representative(s). <br /> "Assistant" means the authorized representative(s) of the administrative authority. <br /> <br />
