Aloha,
Recently I received my wastewater bill and was shocked at the increase from the prior period. In
discussing this with the Wastewater Division staff it was explained that rates were increased
early this yeaz by our County Council. I seemed to have missed this, I guess it was because I did
not realize how lazge my bill would be due to the utilization chazge.
I would like to negotiate a partial exemption for the following items:
1) Imgation-We live on the Kona side in the driest area of town. We do not get regulaz rain fall
and have to rely on irrigation. It is not practical to put in a sub-meter for irrigation purposes as
the cost of adding a meter and the cost of redoing the whole irrigation system is prohibitive.
2) Koi Pond- We have a lazge Koi pond that we keep clean and backwash on a daily basis. This
pond requires continual maintenance and the backwashing impart of that maintenance.
3) Caz Washing- We have three very nice cazs that I keep immaculate. I wash these cazs at least
weekly if not more frequently. The environment we live in (on the ocean) requires that I keep

Based on these requests, I am apply for a partial exemption to the maximum of 50%.
