I urge you to support Resolution 169-07, the Keolalani Hanoa Resolution, f.i tl:r a p ~ i ;:I , s.; t;od
preservation of the Punalu'u Beach area. We don't need another rich-folks-~n 11!r' ; iii ~ : b:
subdivision encroaching on one of the few beaches on this side of this island 'I'1~u; ; ~ ;;e d
development of Punalu'u and Koloa Bay is appalling. Jobs for Punalu'u? %..nt, ,i s t:~a. c s . and
gardeners, at minimum wage? Construction? For how long? And who will r' dS:~i:~!!. iN1; c~wrl:
local folks, or contractors with workers fiom outside Ka'u7 How does that sc sC:cirr I t ~;c o~.om!,'
of Ka'u for the long term? Do we really want to lose the Ka'u lifestyle for ttk t'?' C7o .'e rtc t: u~
sacrifice the turtles, the monk seals, the archaeological sites, and simply the ~ minl:;al r .e: t sp ax+
that makes living on this side of this island different from living anywhere eL e'? ~ {n c o:u e is
gone, it's gone forever, we all know that. Do you want to become known as t Ls a n.'. s ,c~':i. ~
presided over the last days of Punalu'u Beach, without lifting a finger to hells yr~,sc:~ , :::it rn~i all it
stands for? I hope not! !
Again, I urge you to support Resolution 169-07, and all other efforts to presrs nr. ~,n~. cto9 ec , not
only Punalu'u Beach and Koloa Bay, but also all the other coastal areas of Ka .r.
