Aloha and thank you for giving me this opportunity to speak. I oppose Resolution 169-07.
I strongly feel misinformation (falsehoods) have tainted the decision making and the true value
of this resolution. I was asked by Senator Kokubun and Representative Herkies to join the Task Force
for saving the coast of Ka' u and South Kona last year. After six months half of the Task Force quit because
of intimidation, disrespect and discouragement by Ka'u Preservation, it resulted in a minority report by the
few
who stayed. Ka'u Preservation lack sustainability and planning knowledge for the welfare of the community.
I live in Ka'u and have worked unselfishly for many years without pay to provide opportunities for people who
want to stay living in Ka'u.
Please open you hearts and minds and listen to the majority of the people of Ka'u and not a few people who
don't understand the word "aloha".
