Re: Resolution authorizing the acceptance of a "Solar Powered Light" from Hawaii Electric
Light Co., Inc.
Attached is a resolution donating a solar powered light consisting of a solar panel, batteries,
charge controller, switch, flashing beacon, and two flood lights to the County of Hawaii,
Department of Parks and Recreation. The light is specifically designed for marine applications
and was installed at the Honaunau Boat Ramp on October 14, 1997.
Please waive Finance Committee and put on January 16, ] 998 Council Agenda.

RE: Attached Resolution
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regards to Resolution No. 214
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF SOLAR POWERED LIGHTS FROM HAWAII
ELECTRIC LIGHT CO., INC., waiving said referral from the Committee on Finance in order
that appropriate action can be taken by the council.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such waiver be granted.
