Off Island testimony:
Aloha, I am a member of Malamalama O Ka Mahina Halau in Leavenworth Wa. I team about Hawaiian culture
every week from my Kumu Momi Palmieri. She has passed on her love of the islands to all of us. In 2004 I had
the opportunity to visit the Big Island with her. She taught us many things including the proper picking chants
for making leis - to ask permisison. The Big Island is a living treasure that needs to be cared for. Please save
Punalu'u from development. It is such a rare treasure and needs to continue to be natures teacher.
