Subject: Punalu'u and Ninole
Deaz Council Members,
I'm writing in support of Resolution 169-07 that would allow you to
purchase the shoreline and adjacent lands of Punalu'u and Ninole
Springs using Federal Matching Funds.
This land is so important to me, even as just a visitor. I've been watching the development plans, have
spoken with Pat Blew and Danny Miller and others in relation to this sacred land. I've also read a
powerful book recently, "The Future of Life" by Professor Wilson at Harvard, and understand that so
much of the amazing biological diversity of the Hawaiian Islands has been lost forever.
Please do whatever it takes to protect this special place for all to enjoy, for future generations and for the
sake of the endangered plants and animals that call this place home.
