I am Mary Begier President of the Hawaii Island Board of Realtors (HIBR). I am here today
to speak on behalf of our approximately 900 member's island wide. We speak in president
opposition to bill 51 in its current form. Mary Begier, R,ABR,CRB,CRS
We just attended the National Assoc. of Realtors Mid-Year conference in Washington DC President•Elect
where we voted to support increased funding to expedite the flood mapping across the US. Burt Weiss, R
Updated technology allows for flood mapping to be done more accurately and more swiftly
than ever before. This should result in the federal monies going further faster.

We are concerned that if we don't pass a bill to conform to basic FEMA regulations our Arabel Camblor, R,GRI,ABR
citizens' ability to obtain flood insurance for their homes will be at risk. Secretary

We understand that several groups far more learned on this subject than ourselves, such
as the professional engineers, NRCS/SCS Districts along with our own Public Works and Treasurer
Planning Depts. have recommendations to make We look forward to reviewing and Kevin Lewis, R, ABR
hopefully being able to support these changes.
