Budget Amendment in Bill 60
Dear Chairman Hoffman,
I request that the Council. reconsidez its action to zemove the acceptanc:c oa ] lac le xaa

Denying the Police these funds opens the door to federal enforcement ar,d th.l: ll>> s of
control by this council over the marijuana eradication program. While there ar.3~ ;;n a tr, c nr<<ern._

Marijuana and other drugs and alcohol continues to damage our yoclrig ;?e ~ o fL> ali d crux

the availability of drugs as our number one risk factor for our children.
We now know that children's brains continue developing into younE; a,d-,'~ 1 na~.C. a'nd am.
drug use will alter that development. Chronic drug use will imprint coping rnl!r.:ara i.i:, a wrll.at

We live in a beautiful island with many beautiful people and we are th.e Ire',,' ix'un.y.
The availability of dntgs 1n our commtuuty must be zeduced to allow our childrlry~: sl s a: a and
