Dear Council Members, As a regular visitor to your community, it is with great urgency that I write to urge you to fully support the "Keolalani Hanoa" resolution (No. 169-07), proposed by the Honorable Councilman, Bob Jacobson. It is important for the people of Punalu'u to continue to provide a "living classroom" for all without the commercialization of the development of the Ka'u coastal region. The proposed housing development at Punalu'u, would allow for possible destruction of the black sands beach, effecting the native wildlife and treasures that make up the Ka'u Coast. Housing and commercial development will not save lives, give locals jobs, and make living better in this rural community. You will have an influx of people actually taking away jobs and driving the cost of living up until it is no longer affordable for local individuals to survive without selling their souls. Please vote to let Panalu'u and the Ka'u coast remain as it always has, beautiful, undeveloped and open for all to come, see and discover why this region is of great value to the world.
