Re: Bill 55, Draft 2, Kailua Village Business Improvement District No. 1
Dear Chairman Hoffmann,
I ask that you please support the establishment of the Kailua Village
Business Improvement District No. 1. for the future betterment of this
community.
Sadly the appearance of our historical village has now become riddled with
graffiti, garbage and looks rundown.
As a community we need to take pride and action to help restore Kailua
Village so that locals, businesses and visitors can spend time enjoying this
oceanfront area. By addressing the cleanliness and safety issues, the
Kailua Village Business Improvement District will be able to accomplish
these goals.
The Kailua Village Business Improvement District was modeled after the
Waikiki Business
Improvement District and the Fort Street Mall Business Improvement
District. They will be the first BID on the Big Island.
Through this legal mechanism the private and public sector will work in
concert to improve and maintain the physical appearance and aesthetics of
public right of ways, increased cleanliness and security.
Let's improve the image of Kailua Village! Please support the passage of
Bill 55, Draft 2 for us.
