Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the following nominations to the
Hawaii County Veterans Advisory Committee:
• Toribio Francisco of Laupahoehoe, is being nominated to
succeed himself and will be representing the Disabled
American Veterans group (DAV).
• Denise S. Nakanishi of Hilo, is being nominated to succeed
herself and will be representing the Hawaii Island Women
Veterans Association (HIWVA).
• Robert W. Pettit of Hilo, is being nominated to succeed
himself and will be representing the Big Island Retired
Military Association (BIRMA).
• Robert L. Montague of Hilo is being nominated to represent
the newly created organization titled the Hawaii Island
Veterans Memorial, Inc.
All of these nominees were recommended by their respective
organizations and if confirmed, will serve terms to end
December 31, 2002.
