Prior to that I lived on Oahu since 1958. I am part Hawaiian and I support resolution 169-07 because Punalu'u will not benefit from any Further development. In fact, any further development will destroy what little natural beauty and innocence remains there. What too few people seem to realize is that it's the unspoiled, natural places left in Hawaii that make Hawaii a vacation destination, and not the ugly developments that only remind visitors of where they've come from. By preserving Punalu'u, we will serve the visitor industry without killing the goose that lays the golden egg, so to speak. By cherising and maintaining what makes this area unique and remarkable, we will provide something authentic for people to experience without sacrificing it to the artificiality that is replacing everything everywhere.
