Ordinance No. 96 2
Enclosed for your consideration is a draft ordinance amending Chapter 2, Hawaii County
Code, as amended by Ordinance No. 96 2. The draft ordinance amends the section of
Ordinance No. 96 2 which allowed the creation of a Geothermal Royalty Fund by renaming it
the (',Pnrhe*mal Relocation Revolving Fund. By creating a revolving fund we would be able to
facilitate the purchase of dwellings which qualify under the geothermal relocation program.
Under the current procedure, all funds from this account would lapse at the end of the fiscal
year and would therefore have to be appropriated for the next fiscal year. The creation of the
revolving fund will lessen the burden on all affected parties in appropriating the funds on an
annual basis or as funds become available.
