Any developer claiming that the creation of "exclusive, estate-style homes" will preserve the beauty of the immediate and surrounding area, does not have us, the people of these islands in mind. It would seem obvious that the only people who would benefit from any said preservation, in any proximity to this development would be, outsiders with the dream of owning a piece of pazadise and the developer. Genuine concern and reseazch addressing the cultural importance of this area, comprehensive studies surrounding any development in the area (including an Environmental Impact Statement), and ongoing public hearings need to continue not only on a County level before approval of any of our quickly-dwindling, pristine properties. We need to stop the continued "draining" of all that is beautiful in these islands. We need to say "NO" to the foreigners' dollars. We need to think about the future of those who follow us.
