I am writing today to urge you to please do all that you can to protect the precious area of Punalu'u. I have ancestry in that general area, and it is very special. More importantly, it is a crucial resource for the Kanaka Maoli cultural practitioners in the area and would be a grievous loss if commercially developed. As a person with expertise in the area of Epidemiology and Public Health, I strongly believe that the health and well-being of the Kanaka Maoli of that area is dependent on the protection of this area. Please, please do not let it be altered or destroyed in any way. Mahalo nui, Laulani Teale, MPH Hawaiian Peacemaking Project Coordinator Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation comm. Nt,. ~T7• Z S Ref.
