Hawaii County Councilmembers
Aloha Hawaii County Councilmembers,
Please vote yes on Resolution 169-07. It's a win-win for everyone in Ka'u. The community-
based plan for Punalu'u will protect the environment, save the culture, educate the
people.
Don't sacrifice that for luxury homes and resorts that will only make it harder to live in
Ka'u.
I volunteered with the National Park's Hawksbill Seaturtle Program in the summer of 2002
and know how critical Punalu'u and its sister beach, Kamehame, are to these endangered
turtles.
Please keep Punalu'u from becoming more developed than it already is. Hawaii needs more
open spaces like Punalu'u, not fewer.
Mahalo nui, Susan Culliney
