Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 439, reports as follows:
Communication No. 439, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated May 15, 2007, nominate
Ms. Tricia Malanka of Council District 7 to the Hawaii County Board of Ethics.
Ms. Malanka is a two-yeaz resident of Hawaii. She is an independent contractor working as a
realtor. From 1992 to 2005, Ms. Malanka was a flight attendant for American Airlines.
Ms Malanka is a planning committee member of the Robert Lynn Sayre Foundation, and a silent
auction committee member of the Aloha Hawaiian Night. She states that she is a registered
Democrat. If confirmed, Ms. Malanka will serve the remainder of a vacant term to end on
December 31, 2007, and she will be eligible to be reappointed for another term.
Parsuant to Article XIV, Section 14-5, Hawaii County Charter, there shall be a boazd of ethics,
consisting of five members who shall be residents of the County, appointed by the Mayor with
the approval of the Council.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Ms. Tricia Malanka to the Hawaii
County Boazd of Ethics to serve a term ending December 31, 2007.
