Subject: Resolution 169-07
I write in strong support of Resolution 169-07, The Keolalani Hanoa Resolution.
I am from Fargo, North Dakota and went to Punalu'u for the first time for a culture
communication class through the University of Minnesota Duluth. I later returned that year
with some friends of mine, so we could visit the local people I meet and became friends
with. While there both times I learned a lot from my local friends, and those lessons
changed my life. It would be a shame to see that area be over taken by development. Why
develop the land? Why not have eco-culture education opportunities in the area instead?
By allowing developers in this area would be a tragedy, there are other ways to create
local jobs. Hawaii County Council please listen to the people and support resolution
169-07.
