JUN-19-2007 10:14 RM P. 01
January ls, zoo7 cv~~~ J4; l~ fji~ 7
Dear Hawaii County Council Members,
First, I support Bill 169-07. At the June 4`s meeting in Na'alehu it was pretty clear to me
and a9 most others that the majority of the citizens of Ka'u do not support expanding a
resort at Punalu'u. It has boon said that Sea Mountain is a resort and is zoned for it.
Well, I feel that was a mistake then and it would be an even greater mistake now to allow
Further development. I heard a number of speakers on June 4'h express support fox the
further development of Punalu'u because they believe it will bring 300+ jobs to the area.
But, what I didn't hear during the 3 %z hours was anyone supporting Sca Mountain Five
because they were out oC work and needed a job! What Ka'u needs is better schools, job
training, and higher education opportunities. With the population booming in Ka'u, we
have only one dentist, one auto repair shop, end under a dozen police officers to cover the
entire district. Let's move forward, not backward! Ka'u residents deserve better.
Sincerel
B Frai
Na alehu, Hawaii
Comm. No, .3 q. (~R3
Rif. To: G
Rif, Date
