Members of Hawaii County Council:
I wish to comment on the latest proposals concerning the proposed development by the Sea
Mountain Five at Punalu'u, Kau.
I believe this development is not in the best interests of all the
citizens of the 'big island'. Rather than allow the devastation and
destruction of this still pristine area, I believe we would all be better served if the
County were to buy and maintain the golf course
as part of our municipal golf course system. Additionally, I
support the proposal by Bob Jacobson that any development can only take place at least
2000" from the water line.
The decision to preserve this area for future generations will be recognized as showing
foresight and lead to a better vision for the future of our island home.
