Comm. 425: APPOINTMENT OF MYLES Y. MIYASATO TO THE HAWAII COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION
From Mayor Harry Kim, dated May 7, 2007, submitting for confirmation the above
nomination. Myles Y. Miyasato of Council District 1 is a 46-year resident of Hawaii.
He is employed by the Hawaii Operating Engineers Stabilization Fund, was a
foreman with Oahu Construction and Isemoto Contracting, is a member of the
Koaniani Community Club, and the former chair of the Hawaii County Cost of
Government Commission. Mr. Miyasato states that he is not affiliated with any
political party, and if confirmed, he will serve a vacant term that will expire on
December 31, 2010.

Comm. 458: WORKSHOP FOR INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS (ITS) FOR
RURAL COMMUNITIES BY NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED EXPERT
KEITH TRIMELS
From Councilmember Brenda J. Ford, dated May 17, 2007, requesting the above
workshop on how ITS can be used on our island. This presentation is designed to
develop along-term view of improving safety and operational efficiency of Hawaii
County roads. The workshop is sponsored by the Hawaii Local Technical Assistance
Program, a specialized educational organization funded by the Federal Highways
Administration and the State Department of Transportation. The Department of
Public Works has requested Committee to hold this workshop.

transmitted in a timely manner. In any case, both oral and written testimony will be made a part of the

Notice to Lobbyists: If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five
days of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b), Hawaii County Code}. A lobbyist means
"any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or
$275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative
action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials." {Article 15, Section
2-91.3(a)(6), Hawaii County Code} Registration forms and expenditure report documents are available
