RESOLUTION NO. 242 0'7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the 4~' of July is a national celebration commemorating the adoption of the
Declazation of Independence in 1776; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Lehua Jaycees sponsored an
alcohol free, drug free and litter free event, which was held on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 from 3:00 pm
to 8:00 pm at the Mo`oheau Park Bandstand in Downtown Hilo; and
WHEREAS, the American Privateer LYNX arrived in Hilo Hazbor on July 3, 2007. She was
launched on July 28, 2001 and is a replica of a naval schooner from the Waz of 1812. The LYNX
mission is to preserve American Heritage through maritime education; and
WHEREAS, contingency relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the
Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture and Arts Division to be used to help defray some of the
cost associated with the 4~' of July 2007 program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated asset forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forwazd a copy of this resolution
to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
