The County of Hawaii has been allocated funds from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program for the support of law enforcement, prosecution, prevention and education, corrections, drug treatment and planning, evaluation and technology improvement programs. The Hawaii County Police Department hopes to utilize the funds by starting a Documents Management System, utilizing DVD storage, to replace their present system of microfilming police reports; and to purchase new portable Alternate Light Source kits that will enhance trace evidence detection at crime scenes. Comm. 474: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF AN "E" (Res. 237-07) SERIES ACLS DEFIBRILLATOR, RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM ION BATTERY PACK, PEDIATRIC BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF, LARGE ADULT BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF AND IN-SERVICE TRAINING COMPACT DISC FROM THE OCEAN VIEW COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT (donated by the Ocean View Community Association, estimated value of $19 640 30) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 5, 2007, transmitting the above resolution. The Ocean View Community Association recognizes the need for improved emergency medical services for the Ocean View community and wishes to assist the Hawaii Fire Department in providing such services to this remote geographic area. The equipment will be assigned to the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates fire station and used on the previously donated ambulance. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Comm. 349.1: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER (Res. 169-07) INTO NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PUNALU`U BEACH (Draft 2) PARK, NINOLE POND AND ADJACENT LANDS IN THE DISTRICT OF KA`U. PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2 ARTICLE 42 HAWAII COUNTY CODE; From Councilmember Bob Jacobson, dated April 27, 2007, transmitting Res. 169-07, Draft 2. Draft 2 removes reference to Ordinance No. OS-166, and refers to the proper authority, Chapter 2, Article 42, Hawaii County Code; and Comms. 349.2 through 349.61; and FC-14 Page 3 June 19, 2007 Comm. 349.62: From Councilmember Bob Jacobson, dated May 28, 2007, transmitting a proposed amendment to Res. 169-07, Draft 2, stating that certain TMK numbers needed to be removed because they are not in the project site and others were added that were found to be in the project site. TMK's removed were 9-6-004; 9-6-001-005; 9-6-019-011 and 9-6-019-014. TMK's added were 9-6-019-011; 9-5-019-026, and 9-6-002-038 (except for that portion of the property with the established residence consisting of one single-family home). Also, the word "district" was misspelled in the l 1`h WHEREAS clause. This proposed amendment rectifies that and some other minor style housekeeping issues; and Comm. 349.63: From Councilmember Bob Jacobson, dated June 4, 2007, submitting a correction to his proposed amendment in Comm. 349.62, which states that TMK 9-6-019-011 was added by mistake. The mistake was in the May 28, 2007 transmittal only and is not found in the 11`h WHEREAS clause in the proposed resolution that describes the "portions of the properties to be acquired;" and Comms. 349.64 through 349.228; and Comm. 349.229: From Finance Committee Chair Dominic Yagong, dated June 6, 2007, requesting one hour for a presentation by developer Sea Mountain 5 in regards to the proposed development in Punalu`u.
