SUBJECT: Approval of an Ordinance nding Chapter 11, by
Amending Sections 11-3(5 to Require Affordable Units
to be the Primary Residence of a Buyer or Renter and
11-5(C) to Ensure that Developers Maintain
Affordability and Compliance with Resale Restrictions
The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) submitted
an Ordinance to Amend Chapter 11, by Amending Sections 11-3 (5) to
Require Affordable Units to be the Primary Residence of a Buyer
or Renter and 11-5 (C) to Ensure that Developers Maintain
Affordability and Compliance with Resale Restrictions.
The Hawaii County Housing Agency reviewed and approved the
ordinance at its meeting on June 19, 2007, and voted as follows:
AYES: B. Ford, S. Higa, D. Ikeda, B. Jacobson,
E. Naeole, A. Pilago, D. Yagong, J Yoshimoto,
P. Hoffmann - 9
NOES: None
ABSENT AND EXCUSED: None
Accordingly, I am requesting that this ordinance be included on
the Council agenda for action at its July 10, 2007, meeting. ~u,
