Hawaii County Councilmembers
Aloha Hawaii County Councilmembers,
Please vote yes for Resolution 169-07. This is what the Public Access, Open Space, and
Natural Resources Preservation Fund was established for.
Please listen to the community's plan for Punalu'u. Building a thousand luxury homes, a
couple of resorts, and another shopping mall does nothing to improve Hawaii's future.
Rather it ensures we will repeat mistakes of our past, perpetuating the present problems
found throughout our state. Citizens who, having made no connection to the land and gained
no respect for local culture as children, are unable to contribute anything to a
sustainable ruture.
This is one chance Hawaii has to make a change for the better.
It is a chance to show the world that community-based development can protect the
environment and improve people's lives. Please empower this community by listening to
their wishes and voting yes for Reso 169-07.
