Re: Mamalahoa Highway Earthauake Repair
Transmitted herewith for the Council's approval is a resolution accepting a grant of
easement from Classic Pacific Kona LLC to allow the County of Hawaii access over its
property to repair Mamalahoa Highway in Honokohau, North Kona, which was damaged by the
October 15, 2006 earthquake.
The Department of Public Works is requesting a waiver to full Council in order to
expedite the necessary repairs to the highway.

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
1-lawat'i, this written request is submined with my approval that the about-referenced matter be
waived from the Public Works & Intergovertunental Relations Committee to the full Comtcil for
immediate action. In r¢viewing this matter, timely approval is crueial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for
review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, T understand the
matter shall be referred to the Public Works & Intergovernmental Relations Conunittee fer
placement on its future agenda.
