The Report and Management Letter satisfy the <br /> requirement of Section 10-13, Hawaii County Charter, relating to the responsibility of the County <br /> Council to conduct an annual independent audit of the accounts and other evidences of financial <br /> transactions of the County and of every county agency. <br /> KPMG LLP has issued an unqualified opinion, indicating that the financial statements present <br /> fairly in all material respects, the financial position of Hawaii County for Fiscal Year Ending <br /> June 30, 2006, in conformance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. <br /> This year's Management Letter contains findings and recommendations related to: <br /> • Collection of Receivables <br /> • Monitoring of Backup Media <br /> The auditors will be present at the Finance Committee meeting on July 9, 2007, to answer any <br /> questions you may have.
